Tranquility Tip

THE HEAVENS DECLARE THE GLORY OF GOD

This picture was taken (by me) above the clouds on Mt. Haleakala in Hawaii moments after the sun broke the dawn.  It is a moment I will never forget.  ” The Morning Star” !

It’s Tuesday, and already I can see the week is unfolding as a challenge to my serenity.  My tip is to take some time every day, and look “up”.  Look at the beautiful sky that God gave us.  Especially the early morning dawn sky.  Even if I’ve had an awful day, most days, the morning is always tranquil.  Even if I haven’t been able to rise to meet the dawn, the sky is always a magnificent portrait available to me at any time.  We seem to forget that.

Every morning and evening God gives us a FREE gift of beauty.  This gift is always available.  You don’t have to be rich, you don’t have to be with a crowd, you don’t have to be popular.  You don’t have to be healthy, wealthy or wise, but the “wise in heart” know that without looking up, we may tempted to only look down at [the evil] and/or the circumstances which surround us, our city, our nation and our world.

My reminder and tranquility tip today, is to “look up” and remember that God thinks of us every single day, and God Loves Us.

When Jesus walked the earth he told us that we would never be free from trouble, but he did promise us that we could have a “steadiness of mind under stress”, even great stress.   Jesus lived in the Roman Era and certainly disorder and chaos surrounded him, and yet, Jesus knew the secret of serenity.  It was to look up to His Father and to pray.  Have we prayed today?   When we are anxious and agitated, we must stop and pray.  We must look up, for that is where our serenity and calm will come from.  The tender of heart of God will reach down and soothe our worried hearts and minds.  He promised His yoke is easy and HIS burdens light.  Oh if only we would listen.  This entire website is being redesigned with that in mind.  God is “tenderizing” my life by allowing, for a season, affliction to reside in me.  I am thankful for the reminder that God has given me access to the greatest tranquilizer in existence.  HIMSELF!

Do you have a tip for enjoying a tranquil few minutes/hours/days or more?  Oh if you do, please share in the comments section below.

Below are some synonyms for the word tranquility.  They may help jump start your creative thinking so that you too can think of ways to access tranquility.  I’d love to know your ideas.
